The author missed the point some of the depth cues from Biker that left him feeling the movie was a little shallow, as shallow as Biker himself seems. With all that his biggest problem with the movie was that some parts were more interesting than others which is pretty high praise. It is great to have in a highly trafficked news outlet pay so much attention to Biker Fox and it is great for the Slamdance as well.
Ashley Raines did a show on Thursday at Ida Red. This was the second show that I recorded with my new Zoom H4n. I recorded the vocals on one track and the mic’d instruments on another and then also recorded the room with the built in mics of the H4n. It is so much easier than trying to do the room sound from the camera and then trying to sync it all up afterwards.
On the right is a picture of my H4n with it’s red wig. It works very well in keeping the wind noise to a minimum. It is nice to have a huge amount of video and audio gear that is all black and grey and have this bright red mop pop out.
I just got home and received a helmet camera for Biker Fox. I unboxed it on the porch and did a quick inventory. It is really nice and has an on button and then a big switch for recording. I took it for a little spin around the field to see how it looks.
It is the CoutourHD and it just came out. I was lucky I started looking right when this camera came around because the next closest camera is horrible.
Update: I went and it was awesome. Here is most of the Will Crum Artist Session. Because of the YouTube 10 minute limit I couldn’t put it all on there but you can subscribe to the Ida Red podcast to see the whole show. You are missing a Buddy Holly song with the YouTube version. In the future I will need to keep 10 minutes as my hard limit.
There is this awesome band called Recorder that just blew my mind. They dress up as robots wearing robot costumes. This video is from before they take off the outer robot costume. I need to get them to Ida Red.
Update: That was quick. They are scheduled for Ida Red on April 17th.
ReUpdate: They are really into it but had to reschedule.
A couple of weeks ago after hearing politicians talk about clean coal all through the election and even during Obama’s last speech, I thought I would find out what clean coal is. It turns out clean coal covers a large variety of technologies to take the huge amount of toxic emissions that normally come with coal burning and then put them somewhere else. It doesn’t get rid of the toxins, it just takes everything that would be spread through the air normally and concentrates them somewhere else creating a future ecological disaster source. It would be like this huge coal disaster if instead of burying 400 acres it just poisoned them.
So anyway the Coen brothers made a clean coal commercial and it is pretty nice. I really like the frozen poses the spokesman does. The coal is also a little like Mr. Sparkle. >
